Support us & volunteers

Become a CIC Volunteer & positively impact your community!

Volunteering is an opportunity to change lives, including your own. If you'd like to support a cause but can't afford to donate money, you can donate your time or skill in assisting us to deliver a professional and much needed service to our community.

Most CIC services are run by our volunteers, committed individuals who give tirelessly of their skill and time because of the passion for the work that they do.

Established in 2001 the Community Intervention Centre is a registered NPO that provide a FREE 24 hour trauma intervention and support services to the community in support of the SAPS VEP.

The only qualification required is your desire to help someone in need. You don't need any counselling skills; you don't even need a college degree. All you need is a desire to help victims of crime, and the time available to commit to our training programme that will run from February to October, during which time you will be taught the necessary skills to assist clients.

Volunteers are needed from the Tableview, Milnerton and Melkbosstrand area to assist us with on-site trauma intervention cases, follow up support to clients and with our Victim Empowerment Programme in support of to the local SAPS.

All you need to do is sign up for our volunteer training programme and indicate your option of volunteering - Volunteering can make a real difference to your own life and the lives of those around you. We want to ensure that anyone thinking about giving their time can find a volunteering opportunity which is right for them, you can support CIC in many ways, as trauma worker doing counselling to assist victims, fundraising activities, community awareness events, sharing your skills in helping us to design and manage our website, information pamphlets or many other tasks.
